At present 67% of the UK population support charities during their lifetime but only 4% include a charity in their Will. By adding our charity to your Will, you could help secure not just our future, but benefit the lives of others by enabling us to continue to fund research and welfare projects.
Inheritance Tax
It is easy to include a charity in your Will, but you should always consult a professional such as a solicitor or financial adviser to be sure your Will reflects your exact intentions and you understand tax implications. Leaving money to charity is an easy way to give and, because giving to charity is tax-free, it is a good way to save inheritance tax and get 100% of your gift to the cause which you want to support.
Every adult should have a Will, regardless of their age, income or wealth - it is the only way of ensuring your wishes are met after your death. And yet 1 in 5 people in the UK die without one, potentially causing unnecessary complications for their loved ones at a difficult time. If you have a Will, changing it to include our charity is straightforward. If you don't have a Will, having one written is a lot easier than you think.
Legacy wording
The following is the suggested wording for a Legacy as given to us by our Solicitor. “I give the sum of £_______ to Raynaud’s & Scleroderma Association and declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being thereof shall be a sufficient discharge to my Trustees” or “I give the residue (or share of the residue) of my real and personal estate which I can dispose of by Will in any manner I think proper to the Raynaud’s & Scleroderma Association”.
